aid of CAFOD’s Lent Fast Day.
CAFOD Lent Fast Day. This year, every £1 you donate will be matched by the UK Government, meaning that your giving will have double the impact. If you are able to
do so, please also Gift Aid your donation, as it means that even more money is raised. There is also an opportunity to give on a regular basis through Direct Debit. Just fill in the form which is part
of the envelope and return it directly to CAFOD.
Fairtrade. Fairtrade Fortnight continues until Sunday 8th March. Through supporting this by buying Fairtrade products in the supermarkets and
elsewhere, you are helping our poorest brothers and sisters.
Rosary Link. This takes place on Friday 6th March at Our Lady Help of Christians and St. Lawrence in Olney at 10am. Fr. Damien has
room for 4 people in his car for anyone who would like to go with him. Please note that there is no Mass here on that Friday morning.
Easter Lilies. If you would like to have a lily on the Sanctuary
here at Our Lady’s for Easter for your deceased loved ones and friends, please place £3 in an envelope together with a list of their names and give it to Irena by Sunday 29th March. Please mark your envelope
“Easter Lilies”.
Women’s World Day of Prayer Service will take place on Friday 6th March at 2pm at St. Anselm’s.
There will also be a Women’s World Day of Prayer Service at 7pm at St. Andrew’s
Church, Church Walk, Great Billing on the same day. Everyone, including men, is welcome. This year, the day has been prepared by the Women of the Bahamas.
Billing Covenanted Churches Together Lent
Quiet Morning
will take place at Gt. Billing Methodist Chapel on Saturday 7th March, starting at 9.45am and concluding with a Soup & Bread Lunch at 1pm. The morning will be led by Andrea McAuliffe,
Diocesan Reader, Parish of Billing. The theme is “Is it my imagination?” All are welcome to attend.
Church Cleaning. We need volunteers to clean Our Lady’s Church. We work in teams of 2 and it
only roughly takes an hour, with one vacuuming and one dusting, etc. at the moment we are down to only 2 teams which puts a lot on a few people. The more teams there are, the less often you are required.
If you are able to help, please contact Christine Sumner on 01604 408001 or at chris@sumner.net
Warning from the Police. The police in Northamptonshire are urging people to report suspicious
activity following recent reports of people standing in the road and flagging down passing motorists. If someone stops, the person then asks for money for fuel, sometimes offering their jewellery as deposit,
or they may ask for a lift to the nearest petrol station. So far there have been 10 reports of this type of incident at locations across the county. Please, do not get caught out. If you are approached,
refuse the request and then report it to the police.
Prayer & Praise for Northampton is on Monday 2nd March at St. Giles Church, St. Giles Terrace NN1 2BN. Refreshments are available from 7pm.
The event starts at 7.30pm and finishes at 9.30pm. All are welcome.
