Changes in the Parish Office. The Diocese has decided that the presbytery, which will be vacant at the end of this month, should be put on the market to rent so “To Let” signs will appear in
the coming days – this will obviously have an impact on the location of the parish office which will have to move so this is currently under discussion. It seems an appropriate time to inform everyone
that Irena will be retiring as Shrine and Parish Administrator/Secretary in February of next year. We will keep you informed of any developments.
Divine Mercy Retreat. The Divine Mercy Apostleship
UK run by the Marian Fathers is organising a Divine Mercy Retreat at the Diocesan Shrine of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Great Billing, NN3 5DT on Saturday 19th September from 11am – 4.30pm. The Retreat
includes talks on the Divine Mercy, Mass, Hour of Mercy with Benediction and Chaplet concluding with Veneration of the image of the Merciful Jesus and Relics of St. Faustina. All are welcome. Please bring
a packed lunch.
Coffee and Cake Morning in aid of the Karuri School Project: Come and join us for coffee (or tea) and cake on Friday 11th
September in the Sacred Heart Church Hall. There
will be a bring and buy stall. All donations received will go to the Karuri
Sea Sunday Appeal 2015. If you have any rosaries, prayer cards and books, medals, etc that you are
currently not using but would like to pass on to others in need, please see Irena, who will then arrange to pass them on to the Apostleship of the Sea chaplains. Please, though, do not include any of the
old Missals as they are of no use to the seafarers.
Tiny Tots at the Sacred Heart. From Thursday 10th September, the Sacred Heart Parish is starting a Tiny Tots group on a trial basis. It will
be held fortnightly on Thursday afternoons in the church hall from 1pm to 2.45pm which should allow time for school pick- ups. There will be a 50p a time charge for a family group, which will include
light refreshments. So if you look after a pre-school child, why not come and have a cup of tea and a chat with others while the children play?
